	I’m a designer who primarily practices through video, photo and graphics. My work is usually rooted in observation, conservation and material expermentation. During my degree I often brought together photography, video interviews and handmade publications to explore how places, objects and archives carry personal and collective memory.Recent projects have included films made from journeys through Scotland and Ireland, blending diaristic narration with interview and archive footage; collaborative publications tracing object biographies through contemporary archeology; and hand bound photobooks documenting transient landscapes seen from bus windows.I’m drawn to the often overlooked, the everyday and the in-between – how small stories can reveal wider patterns of belonging, migration and identity. Whether working independently or in collaboration, my aim is to explore narratives through many different lenses.

		<description>In-Use Archive
	
	In-Use is a collaborative project exploring Scottish object biographies through documentary storytelling. For this project I worked closely with Graphic Designer Megan Waterston. I focused on how everyday objects reveal layered histories, from their making and circulation to the personal and cultural meanings they gather over time.

The project combines still photography, video interviews and editorial design to document these narratives. We approached the work as both filmmakers and editors, shaping interviews and field recordings into a publication that sits between archive and essay. Our process was grounded in careful listening and observation: recording conversations, photographing objects in context and mapping connections between material culture and lived experience.

Pigeon keeping and community in Glasgow

	
The Dookit is a pigeon supply shop in Glasgow’s East End, run by Alan Ingram. Part retail, part meeting space, it functions as a social hub for a small but tightly connected group of fanciers. Many visit weekly for feed, medication, and conversation — keeping the shop alive as much as it keeps the birds alive.

The Braemar team has operated since 1965, responding to emergencies across one of the UK’s most remote landscapes. Entirely volunteer-run, the group trains year-round to handle avalanche risk, difficult terrain, and night navigation. This section follows their training and kit — the systems behind the scenes that keep them operational.

In Jedburgh, the streets become a pitch each February as locals take part in the centuries-old game of handba’. The ball, handmade and hand-painted, passes through generations of players. This object sits at the centre of a day-long event shaped by tradition, memory, and collective motion.

Born from a shared interest in road cycling and social repair, Magic is a club with no set route. Members build, break, and ride bikes together, often out of hours and in the town. Their scarf – part identity marker, part souvenir – documents those shared moments in motion.

	Halfway Home
	Halfway Home is a project exploring family, travel and Irish identity through documentary film and photography. I made a fifteen-minute film combining interview, narration and archival footage, following a journey from my home in Scotland back to Ireland with my mum and grandad. Alongside the film, I produced a series of photographic prints made during the journey.

The work looks at questions of belonging and inheritance through everyday moments and shared stories. It traces connections across places and generations, from talking head interviews to quieter observations captured on the road. At its heart, Halfway Home is about how travel can become a space for reflection, and how family stories help shape our sense of where we come from.

The journey begins at home. Leaving Brighton with Mum, we move north through familiar cities and long train corridors. There’s an in-between feeling: bags on laps, changing platforms, quiet anticipation. Each transfer marks a step further from the domestic and closer to something older, half-remembered.

In Glasgow, the pace pauses. Then the route turns west: train to Ayr, coach to Stranraer, ferry from Cairnryan. The ferry becomes a threshold – sea and weather forming a border that’s felt more than seen. This section holds the crossing itself, where land gives way to motion, and anticipation builds.
